Adrienne Kowalski, owner of Toots & Tallie, is a 16 year resident of Hoboken and a lifetime follower of fashion. She watched Hoboken go from a sleepy town with few shopping options to an exciting, thriving city that has become a destination in and of itself.

As Hoboken grew, the need for versatile work into evening clothes as well as fashionable, functional casual wear became clear, and the concept for Toots & Tallie was born.

After two years at 801 Washington Street, Toots&Tallie needed to grow! We relocated to a larger space located at 1006 Washington Street, two blocks north of our original location. Our new space allowed us to expand our selection of jewelry and accessories, and gave our customers more space (and extra fitting rooms!) to shop, socialize and relax. We're often asked about our name--the store is named after the owner's maternal grandmother and great aunt--their nicknames were Toots and Tallie, "real" names Josephine and Genevieve. Both women were strong, independent, and entrepreneurial, long before many women were! It is Adrienne's hope that the spirit and drive of the original Toots and Tallie will continue to inspire and drive her, to the benefit of fans of fashion far and wide!
